Purpose: Your Organisation's Reason For Being

Over the last few weeks, I have been selecting a key characteristic of future-ready organisations and sharing my 3 top tips relating to these.

Future-ready companies recognise that purpose helps attract people to join their organisation, remain there, and thrive. To do this they:

  1. Agree on a shared purpose with the team that sets out for customers, suppliers and employees your reason for being. This describes not what you do but why you exist and what you stand for.

  2. Regularly discuss this shared purpose by focusing on what is getting in the way and what initiatives are required to move closer to that shared purpose. 

  3. Help individuals understand their own purpose and how this links to the shared purpose.
