We
are Registered Advisers with the N. Ireland Investors in
People Quality Centre and have advised many organisations
both in the public and private sectors since 1997 on how
to implement this National Standard to their business.
Group
programmes may be available funded by the Department for
Employment and Learning.
Facts
and Figures:
- 60%
of Northern Ireland’s top 100 companies have achieved
the Standard.
- As
at the end of September 2002 the latest statistics indicate
that a total of 29,771 organisations were fully recognised
with the Standard.
- 25%
(or 1 in 4) of the UK working population is employed by
organisations with the Investors in People Standard
Profile
Profile
is an alternative assessment service to a normal Post Recognition
Review. As a tool it was designed to allow an organisation
to pinpoint just how good it is and also at a later date
compare themselves with other organisations.
Profile
is based on the content of the existing Investors in People
Standard. However, to make the reporting back more useful,
the indicators and evidence requirements have been grouped
into 23 measures and structured under three sections.
These
sections are:
1.
Developing our Strategy:
This covers strategic planning and evaluation.
2. Implementing our Strategy:
This covers management behaviour
3. Developing our People:
This covers communication, training and development.
For
each measure, an organisation will be assigned one of four
levels based on the evidence that the assessor finds when
conducting the review. Level 1 represents an organisation
meeting the Standard, whilst level 4 represents an organisation
likely to be demonstrating outstanding characteristics of
the Standard for example, using information from both self-review
and external sources to improve its practice.
Feedback
from the Profile Review comprises of three graphs, one section
for each, which details the level assigned for each measure
together with a concise written report which gives the rationale
for the Assessor’s conclusions and suggestions for
further improvement.
Work
Life Balance Model
Everyone
needs work-life balance, whatever their age or situation.
It isn’t just about working mothers – it is
about finding new ways for your organisation and your people
to work, which will make your organisation a better and
more productive place.
The
new work-life Balance Model is a practical and realistic
way to help you get to grips with these issues and find
the right solutions for your organisation. What works in
one organisation may not work in another, so the Model will
help you find what suits your culture and business needs,
as well as meeting the different needs of your different
people. The model helps achieve this by shifting the focus
onto what you can do to help people deliver your objectives
rather than manage how they do it.
